John Stafford has been an educator for 34 years. He served 20 years as an Elementary and Middle School Principal and for 2 years as Academic Officer and as Superintendent of the Madera Unified School District until his retirement. Following his retirement, he served as an Interim Superintendent for the Mariposa County Unified School District.
A native of Fresno, he enlisted in the California Air National Guard in 1968 and worked as a Crew Chief on F-102’s and F-106’s. He then returned to school to complete his education. He graduated with an Elementary and High School Teaching Credential. He taught one year in La Paz Bolivia.
John is an avid golfer, motorcyclist and sometimes musician. He and he and his wife Sherrie have three adult children and nine grandchildren.
“GH” Armour was an extremely active Miss California/Miss America volunteer for almost 20 years. She served as the Executive Director of a number of Miss California Local Preliminary Pageants in the Northern California Bay Area. Among her most prominent local titleholders is Rita Ng Lawall, M.D., now a cardiologist on staff with Kaiser Permanente in the Oakland Bay Area. Rita Ng was 2nd Runner-up to Miss America 2001.
“GH” and George, her husband of 45 years, have two grown daughters, both of whom competed successfully in our program and became Miss California Pageant local pageant titleholders. Following her husband’s retirement from the United States Postal service, the Armours moved to Tennessee, where “GH” continues as a volunteer, mentoring contestants in both Interview Preparation and wardrobe selection.
Matthew Rosenfeld is the Vice President and General Manager of Fresno Television stations KSEE NBC24 and KGPE CBS47. He oversees all operations of both major network affiliates. Clearly an outstanding corporate citizen, he has been active in a remarkable number of community organizations, since moving to Fresno five years ago. In 2013, served as Chairman of the Board of the Fresno Chamber of Commerce. He is a graduate of Leadership Fresno, a member of the Board of Directors of Valley Crime Stoppers. In 2010, he was Chairman of the NCAA Regional Basketball Tournament. In the same year, he served for three years as a Committee Chair of the Salvation Army Central Valley Regional Advisory Board and received the “Hometown Hero Award” from the Fresno Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Before moving to Fresno in July 2009, Matthew was the President and General Manager of three television stations in New York, overseeing operations of all three simultaneously. He was name one of the “40 under 40” in Central New York in 2009.
Matthew resides in Fresno with his wife Barbara and two daughters.
Sherri Mosher is a native Californian, who attended California State University, Fresno, where she earned a degree in Marketing. For the past 20 years she has been the owner and operator of Madeline’s Bridal Boutique in Old Town Clovis.
Although she is no longer involved in our program, because of the demands of her business and a myriad of commu- nity activities, she once served as an active volunteer and as the Executive Director of the Miss Clovis Pageant. Sherri is an active member of the Clovis Chamber of Commerce and for many years the Walk of America Coordinator for the March of Dimes. She was also active in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Sherri is married and has two grown daughters.
Jerry Stewart was born and raised in Libya. He moved to the United States and attended the University of Miami, where he earned a degree in Structural Engineering. He was employed briefly by the Miami Police Department His interest in agriculture led him to move to Fresno, where he established Custom Agriculture Formulators. Several years ago, he established a plant in Australia and serves as President and CEO of both operations. He recently opened a trendy new restaurant in North Fresno.
Jerry is a Past President of the California State University, Fresno Soccer Boosters and serves on the Board of Directors of the Fresno Chapter of Crime Stoppers
