2015 Miss California’s Outstanding Teen Judges

Heyner Oviedo is currently the owner and president of Valley Music Center in Fresno California. In recognition of his position as one of the leading music establishments in the country and a high standard of service in our community, Hayner was appointed as dealer #60 by Steinway & Sons.

In 2010 he also served on the Board of Directors of the Youth Orchestras of Fresno for 2 years. Hayner was Vice-President of Fresno Piano for ten years. He is a piano teacher who enjoys over 30 students. Hayner has been teaching since since he was 17 years old. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from University of California Irvine, and Masters of Business Administration from the Paul Merage School of Business from the University of California Irvine.

Tim Liles is currently the principal at Sunnyside High School in Fresno. As a native Californian he earned his BA and MA at Fresno State. He has been a proponent for students for over 25 years and is also involved in many community service organizations outside of education. Tim has been honored with the Association of California School Administrators “Valuing Diversity” award, by the South East Fresno Community Economic Development Association (SEFCEDA) “Trail Blazer for Success” award and twice been nominated for the FUSD Excellence in Education award. As a coach, teacher, district leader and principal, Tim has always made pursuing an education a priority for all of his students. Currently, Sunnyside High, over the last three years, has had the most students enrolled at Fresno State than any other high school and is an AVID National Demonstration School. Tim and his wife Valerie have two sons, Chris and Zack. Together with his boys Tim is an avid camper, back packer and also finds some time to get out on the golf course.

Gigi Pavlovich as owner of The Entertainment Company, Gigi writes and produces musical revues, shows, and plays. Her productions have played in theaters throughout Central California. One of her original shows for Fresno’s Children’s Musical Theaterworks, starred Broadway legend Audra McDonald.
Her musical theatre roles include Velma Kelly in “Chicago,” Joan in “Dames at Sea,” and Susan in “Finnian’s Rainbow.” She has been seen in numerous musical revues including “In the Mood,” “Sentimental Journey,” and “Happy Endings.” Additionally, she has been cast in television, radio commercials, and print campaigns.

Gigi was a Public Information Office for the State of California for twenty years. She was a member of the Fresno Jr. League, and has served on the boards of StageWorks Fresno, Children’s Musical Theaterworks, Fresno Dance Association, Fresno Arts Council, Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Association, and chaired the outreach campaign for the Fresno Grand Juror’s Association.

David Manning began his career in media at the early age of five with his first national touring group featuring comedian Rob Schneider. As a child actor and appeared frequently on various television shows including Buffy The Vampire Slayer and The Andy Dick Show, commercials for Coca Cola and various stage performances, most notably the KCACTF nominated performance of Nicky Silver’s The Altruists. At age of 16 David signed with FORD Models and began his career in print media. After a successful run, he attend CSU Fresno and study Theatre Arts with a minor in Business. He was picked up by Surdell and Partners, a national advertising firm, where he served as Senior Fashion Producer overseeing the print and broadcast divisions for three California based retailers. He then moved into publishing, working on two regional lifestyle publications until creating his own brand CVLUX with his business partner Donna Kaczmarski. CVLUX is currently distributed in over 150 newsstands in the Valley, the Central Coast and select Southern California locations. He has recently worked with Molly Sims, Monica Potter, Patricia Heaton and everyone’s favorite Real Housewife, Lisa Vanderpump. In addition to his various work accolades he serves on the board Friends Of The Arts at Fresno City College.

Skip Sargenti is a returning judge for the Miss California Most Outstanding Teen Pageant, and is thrilled at the opportunity. Knowing what this competition means to the contestants, he is looking forward to another year of bright, driven young women.

Skip has been an active member in the Fresno theatrical community for more than forty years. In addition to acting with several theatre groups around Fresno, he was also one of the founders, and director, of Full Moon Improv. From Shakespeare to musical comedy, drama to original local productions, his background covers the gamut of the- atrical experiences.

Along with his wife, Paula Fansler, Skip co-founded “Common Goal Development, Inc.” a Redevelopment company dedicated to revitalizing Fresno neighborhoods, one house at a time.

As “Poppa”, he and “Nonni”(Paula) have almost six grandchildren who keep them young, and tired, all at the same time!

Monica Stainer grew up in Huntington Beach, California. At the age of 15, she won the title of Miss California’s Outstanding Teen 2009. During her year of service, she travelled around California to speak about her platform, “The Three R Plan: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”, host beach clean ups, and perform her talent. At Miss America’s Outstanding Teen, she was Fourth Runner Up and a double Preliminary winner in both Talent and Evening Gown/On Stage Question. Recently, Monica graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting. In addition to academics at USC, she served as the Captain of the USC Song Girls team. This fall, she will begin working at Deloitte & Touche, LLP in their audit practice. She is very excited to be back in Fresno and welcome another young woman into the Miss California’s Outstanding Teen Sisterhood!
