2019 Miss California Judges
Born and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Jane graduated from Morningside College in Sioux City with a Bachelor of Music Education, and also holds a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN. She funded much of her edu- cation with scholarships awarded through her participation in the Miss America Program. Jane was Miss Iowa 1980.
Jane’s Miss Iowa experience opened new opportunities in the business world. She was an executive at AT&T in business sales. At Wilson Learning, she was elected Faculty Chair of the Commercial Advanced Sales curriculum. In 1991, Jane founded her own sales and marketing consulting firm, Blinde & Associates, Inc. During her 27 years of business consulting she worked with diverse leadership teams and formed lasting friendships in the 23 countries where she has worked.
Jane has served as a volunteer and judge for multiple state and local programs in the Miss America Organization and is pleased to be judging Miss California. She has been married to Loral Blinde for 32 years, and they live in Orlando, FL. They enjoy golf, theater, music, travel and their rescue Maltese, Callie.
Fresno native Evan Garabedian earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with double concentrations in International Management and Information Systems Analysis and Design. At Cal Poly Evan performed in the University Jazz Band and toured Asia. He became a Life Member of the Jazz Federation of San Luis Obispo County.
After college Evan began his career at Pelco, Inc. managing software and international projects. Later, he joined the Solutions and Technology Office at Schneider Electric, where they developed and marketed an innovative surveillance solution, MultiSight.
Evan is currently the Director of Sales Strategy at Agrian, a global agricultural software company that helps growers, agronomists and food processors simplify their workflow within a single software platform. Agrian’s unified software platform empowers every link of the agricultural food chain to operate safely, sustainably and profitably.
When he isn’t glued to his computer and following business, technological and economic trends, Evan loves to travel and follow his passion for motorsports. He has extensive firearm experience which has earned him certifications by the Department of Justice as well as multiple law enforcement agencies throughout California.
A native of Brooklyn, New York, Linda Carbo attended Kingsborough College majoring in Business Management and Sales Development. Her career began as Account Manager for TransWorld Airlines. She advanced to Account Executive and Training Coordinator, working with travel managers nationwide, from Alaska to Maine. She trained corporate offices and sales personnel on Worldspan’s computer reservations system.
Linda began in the Miss America Organization as a local director and later became Executive Director of the Miss New York Organization and Miss New York’s Outstanding Teen. She proudly boasts that she was business manager for Miss New York and was on the preparation committee for three consecutive state titleholders who went on the become Miss America 2013, 2014 and 2015, making New York the first state to have a three-peat! To add to that, Miss New York yet again became Miss America 2019. Linda is extremely proud that New York has had four Miss America’s in one seven-year span, a national record that is likely to stand for quite some time!
In her spare time Linda enjoys traveling and attending ballet and Broadway shows. She also loves to attend Lincoln Center to watch Nia Franklin, our current Miss America, perform. She is excited to be in California to serve on the panel that she hopes will select California’s next Miss America!
Randy E. Pruett
Randy E. Pruett is Vice President of Cooksey Communications, a Texas-based public relations firm where he counsels corporate executives on brand awareness, reputation management, crisis communications and public advocacy. His work has appeared in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Texas Monthly and on NPR, PBS and CNN.
A competitive cook, avid blogger and passionate art collector, he’s also an Accredited Business Communicator, a Certified Association Executive and has been honored as “Dallas’ Communicator of the Year.”
Previously, he served on the Board of Directors, as Associate Producer, as Judges’ Coordinator and Historian for the Miss Texas Organization. He authored the coffee table book and DVD collection titled “A Dream as Big as Texas: Miss Texas Celebrates Her 75th Anniversary.” Randy has judged 22 Miss America state competitions – most recently West Virginia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Maine, North Dakota, Kentucky and Indiana. He lives in Dallas.
Keitra Robinson is an award-winning speaker, executive coach and founder of Justinspire LegendsTM LLC, a personal and professional development company for women leaders. Keitra is also author of the inspirational life strategy book, “Life Re-Imagined: From Frustrated to Fullled.”
Keitra believes that it’s a privilege that she has been able to reach and impact women leaders across the globe through private leadership coaching as well as conference and media speaking engagements. She also enjoys her work in the arts as a vocalist, model and actress, and she has filmed several television and media ads for national brands.
Keitra is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of North Carolina Central University and obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from Pepperdine University School of Law. The Miss America Organization has been an invaluable part of her educational experience: Keitra served as Miss Durham-Chapel Hill (NC) and Miss Culver City (CA). All things considered, Keitra finds her greatest roles to be wife to David and mother to her three amazing and fun sons, Justin, Sean and Legend, also known as “Legend the Motivator,” her grade school apprentice! She and her family live in Orlando, Florida.
Victor Salazar currently serves as the director of a professional development center for in-service teachers in the College of Education & Health Professions at Columbus State University, Columbus, Georgia. He grew up in San Francisco and attended 11 schools before graduating from high school there. He attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, and earned degrees from Coker College, SC (Bachelor of Arts), the United States Naval Postgraduate School (Master of Arts) and Columbus State University (Doctor of Education).
His many years of serving abroad through military service and as the executive director of an international Non-governmental Organization (NGO) have enabled him to pursue his interest in multicultural issues and holistic learning best practices. To date, he has visited 47 countries, 49 states and 8 of Canada’s provinces and territories, including Nunavut. He raised three children with his wife of 44 years, Pam. Victor sang tenor in the Monterey Bay Cypressaires Barbershop Chorus and also speaks Korean.
