The Miss California Organization is full of talent!  As the home state of entertainment and Hollywood, we are lucky enough to have some of the most talented & artistic young women in California to perform on our stage. Today, many of them are performing on stages nationwide & worldwide.

Angel Joy Blue
1st Runner-up, Miss California 2006

California soprano Angel Blue's voice has been recognized for its shining and agile upper register, “smoky” middle register, and beautiful timbre. She has performed internationally and won numerous awards.

Miss Blue was a finalist in Operalia 2009, receiving first place in the Zarzuela competition, and second place in the Opera competition. Angel was honored to be a part of the 17th Annual Verbier Festival, held in July 2010 in Verbier, Switzerland. It was here she sang in an “Operalia Tribute” Concert sponsored by Rolex. She has also received awards from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Regional Auditions, A.E.I.O.U Italian Educators Vocal Competition, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion's Emerging Young Entertainers Award, and the Redlands Bowl Competition.

In 2011, Blue toured with Placido Domingo, opening for him at the Kaufmann Center in Kansas City, Missouri, the Royal Opera House in Muscat, Oman, and at his concerts in Beijing, China as well as Zagreb, Croatia. In 2012 Angel sang die Dritte Norn in Oper Frankfurt's production of Götterdämmerung with Sebastian Weigle conducting, Giulietta in Hoffmann Erzählungen in Wien, Austria, Clara in Porgy and Bess in Concert with the Berlin Philharmonic conducted by Sir Simon Rattle.

During her time competing in the Miss California Organization, Blue garnered multiple awards at both the local and state level recognizing her excellence in the talent competition.

Arianna Afsar
Miss California 2010

​Arianna is the definition of the voice. She combines the sweet sound of Ella Fitzgerald and the passionate aggressive voice of Heart. She has been songwriting since she was 10 years old and you can currently find a few of her originals on either Itunes or Soundcloud. Her major accomplishments include being a top 36 American Idol Contestant Season 8 as one of the youngest contestants. As a result,  she was able to sing her heart out multiple times on FOX. She went on to become Miss California 2010 and placed in the top 10 at Miss America 2011, where she was able to once again showcase her talent on national television; this time on ABC. Currently,  you can find Arianna all around Los Angeles playing shows at the Whisky A Go Go, the Roxy, and many more. She consistently writes with reputable songwriters- she has placed a few songs for ABC shows. She is also a professional demo singer- demoing songs for Kelly Clarkson, Pink, and Disney Stars. You can hear her voice on the Disney Campaign “Make your Mark on the World” as the lead female vocalist for the campaign's theme song.

Jacquelynne Fontaine
Miss California 2006

Jacquelynne is currently on tour as Carlotta Giudicelli, the Italian opera diva, in the brand new 25th Anniversary Broadway National Tour of Phantom of the Opera!  At home on both the operatic and concert stage, Jacquelynne Fontaine was called “a soprano new to us, and all the more wondrous for that” by Alan Rich, reviewer for the New York Times and Los Angeles Times newspapers.  Recent operatic lead roles include: Violetta in La Traviata, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Pamina in The Magic Flute, Donna Anna and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, and Ilia in Idomeneo.  She made her professional operetta debut performing Kathie in The Student Prince with the Pittsburgh CLO and was names a “charming and vivacious actress” in Talkin’ Broadway.

Musical theater credits include: Countess Charlotte in “A Little Night Music” with the Indiana Repertory Theatre, The Ragazza in the World Premiere New Musical “A Room With a View” at the Old Globe Theater in San Diego, and Anna in “The King & I” with Opera North.  Recital and orchestral highlights: Sunday’s Live on KUSC at LACMA, Jacaranda Concert Series, Orchestra del Lazio, in Rome Italy, Marina del Rey Orchestra, Redlands Bowl, South Coast Symphony, and the Cal Lutheran Distinguished Speakers Series.

Beth Behrs
Miss Marin County 2006

You most likely recognize Miss Marin County 2006 Beth Behrs as Caroline Channing from the hit CBS comedy 2 Broke Girls.

Behrs landed her first film role in the teen comedy American Pie Presents: The Book of Love, which she filmed in Vancouver for seven weeks beginning in March 2009. The seventh in the American Pie series, the film was released direct-to-video on December 22, 2009. Behrs starred in Adventures of Serial Buddies, an independent comedy about an inept group of serial killers, produced by television personality Maria Menounos.  The film also starred Christopher Lloyd, Kathie Lee Gifford, and Artie Lange. In late 2010, Behrs shot the independent feature Route 30, Too! in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, playing an alien girl.

Behrs began working in television with guest appearances on NCIS: Los Angeles and ABC's Castle.  In 2011, she was working as a nanny and performing at the Geffen Playhouse in Westwood when she auditioned for the CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls. She landed the lead role after seven auditions.  Behrs plays Caroline Channing, an heiress from Manhattan's Upper East Side, who is forced to become a waitress at a diner in Williamsburg, Brooklyn after her father is arrested for financial wrongdoing.  CBS renewed the series for a fourth season in 2014.
