Alexis Goldring

Alexis Goldring of Children’s Miracle Network at CHOC Children’s may be new to the pageant world but not to Fresno. Alexis was born and raised in Fresno, CA before moving to Irvine in 2009. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2013 with a degree in Business Administration and an emphasis in Marketing. Her passion for giving back to her community stems from her own experience growing up with a sibling in and out of the hospital for Congenital Heart Disease. She volunteered for seven years for Camp Taylor, a free summer camp for children with heart disease and their siblings, where she also raised funds and was a camp counselor.

At UC Irvine, Goldring was the Philanthropy Director for Greek Songfest which raised over $100,000 for the Down Syndrome Foundation of Orange County. An accomplished equestrian, she lives in Huntington Beach, where she leases a horse named Maverick. She enjoys skiing, Muay Thai, and visiting Yosemite National Park.

Barbara Helm

Barbara Helm’s professional career spans some forty-six years in nursing with a specialty in Geriatric Nursing the past thirty-nine years. Her undergraduate work in nursing was completed at the University of the State of New York and her graduate work at the University of Southern Indiana. She currently owns and serves as the Director of Nursing Services at Hillside Manor Nursing Home and The Legends Village Assisted Living Community in Washington, Indiana. She remains as a member of the Miss Indiana Scholarship Pageant Board of Directors since being appointed in 2000.

Initially, Helm served on the scholarship committee and later served two years as the Miss Indiana business manager. The past fourteen years she has served Indiana as one of two Miss Indiana Field Directors traveling throughout the state promoting the Miss America Organization while over-seeing and supervising the judging process at the many local pageants. Additionally this past year she served as the judges’ chair for the Miss Indiana Outstanding Teen Pageant. Over the past 15 years she has judged several state’s Miss America local pageants, the National Sweetheart Pageant in Hoopston, Ill, as well as fairs and festival pageants. Her most memorable event wasseeing Indiana get their first ever Miss America, Katie Stam in 2009.

Barbara is involved in several community and state organizations volunteering many hours of service. Her enjoyment is spending time with her husband of 47 years and traveling to their vacation home in Florida; sharing time with her 4 adult children and 8 wonderful grandchildren.

Dr. Billy Jenkins

Dr. Billy Jenkins, a resident of Rainbow City, Alabama holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Montevallo, a Master’s degree from the University of Alabama in Elementary Education, a Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado, an Education Specialist degree from Jacksonville State University in School Administration, and a Doctorate in Philosophy in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama. Dr. Jenkins is currently a Professor forGadsden State Community College and Jacksonville State University. He was a recipient of District VIII Teacher of the Year for the State of Alabama and top 4 in the Alabama State Teacher of the Year Program and was the elementary recipient for the Alabama Teacher Hall of Fame.

Jenkins serves as the Co-Director for the Miss Alabama’s Outstanding Teen Pageant and also as a Field Director for the Miss Alabama Scholarship Pageant. He is the past director of the Miss City of Champions Scholarship Preliminary and the Miss Homewood Area Scholarship Preliminary where he directed four former Miss Alabama winners. As Co-Director of the State Teen Pageant, many of his former winners have placed in Top Ten… with several winners placing First and Second Alternate. Dr. Jenkins is an accomplished stage performer, pianist, and vocal performer.

Julia Kazantsev

Julia Kazantsev holds a Master’s degree in Geography and is a classically trained mezzo-soprano. She has been happily married for 30 years, and is a Real Estate Broker with Sotheby’s International Realty. She is very involved with her children’s high school as a member of the PTSA and also volunteers with the Russian Scouts of America Organization in San Francisco. The mother of 2, her son, Bo, is 16 years old and an avid swimmer, soccer player, and competition skier. Her daughter, Kira, 24, a graduate of Hofstra University was Miss New York 2014 and went on to win Miss America 2015!

Preparing for pageants since Julia’s daughter was 11, she has worn many hats as her coach, mentor, seamstress, and occasional bodyguard. It has been an incredible bonding experience and a wonderful journey. Julia also loves traveling internationally, excellent food, and re-watching Kira’s TV appearances on YouTube as often as possible.

Kristina Janolo Maloney

Kristina served as Miss Florida 2011 and placed in the Top 13 at the Miss America 2012 pageant.  With a firm belief in herself and the value of hard work, she won Preliminary Swimsuit, Interview, and Evening Gown Awards along with the State title in her final year of eligibility.  She competed for five years in the Miss America program, earning over $40,000 in scholarship money. This helped her graduate with her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Central Florida debt free.

Kristina, her husband Matt, and theiradorable fur baby Murphy currently reside in Chicago where together they run the Matt Maloney State Farm Agency.  She began her judging career with a few local pageants and then had the remarkable experience of judging the National Sweetheart Heart Pageant in 2014.  Kristina loves to travel, experience culture, and learn about the world around her.  This is Kristina’s first time judging an Outstanding Teen Pageant and is honored and thrilled to be here!
